C. Mark Tang, Ph.D., M.B.A., CEO and Managing General
Partner, has followed and invested in biotech industry for over a decade. On Wall Street, Dr. Tang has been a senior biotech
analyst, a biotech investment banker/venture capitalist, an investment advisor and the publisher of BMTS (Bio/Medical Technology
Stock) newsletter. Dr. Tang has co-founded three ventures in the past and was recently a co-founder of Aegisoft Corp., a digital
rights management (DRM) technology company (acquired by RealNetworks Inc. OTC: RNWK). He has spoken at local and international
conferences on a variety of investment topics in the United States and Asia. He is the author of a number of financial articles
including “Strategies for Managing Risk in Equity” and " The State of Asian Bioentrepreneurship" (Nature Biotechnology 7/2002
and 7/2003), the author of "The Essential Biotech Investment Guide". Dr. Tang holds an MBA in Finance from New York University
and a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from University of California-Riverside.
Melinda Mingus, MD, MBA,
Venture Partner, is an Anesthesiologist in NY. As the former Medical Director of Ambulatory Surgery at The Mount Sinai-NYU
Medical Center Health System in NY, she has experience in all aspects of management, training, and clinical protocols. As
a principal research investigator and author of over 50 scientific publications, she has served as consultant to numerous
pharmaceutical and medical device companies for research design and product marketing. Dr. Mingus has been a biotechnology
and life science consultant for several investment firms and the VP, Strategic Relations of an Internet Health company, giving
her broad experience in the assessment of products/services, organizational and managerial effectiveness, competitive positioning
and market potential of technology. A native Texan, she received her undergraduate BA degree from Rice University in Houston,
Texas, her MD degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, Texas, and her anesthesiology residency
and fellowship training and certification at The New York Hospital and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Dr. Mingus
also holds a MBA degree from the NYU Stern School of Business, NY.
Lewis Cahill, MBA, Chief Financial Officer, has
a diversified corporate background with significant accomplishments in financial services. Lewis was Chief Financial Officer
and a director of Prebon Yamane (USA) Inc., a global financial services firm that attained premier status on Wall Street and
with offices in 26 countries. He was on the Board of Directors of several US companies. He was responsible for developing
the firm’s infrastructure and playing a key role in several acquisitions and divestitures. He also was a key player in taking
the company public on the London Stock Exchange and later in its merger with another listed company. Previously, at J.P. Morgan
Chase & Co., Lewis progressed to Assistant Controller where he was responsible for accounting and Federal Reserve Reporting.
He also restructured and upgrading a highly visible liaison department resulting in more accurate and timely external reporting.
Prior to banking, Lewis was at the Bristol-Myers Squibb Company where he progressed to Manager of Corporate Accounting. He
restructured the accounting department and implemented systems changes that significantly improved the accuracy and timeliness
of financial reporting.
